47 Birding in the Botanic Gardens - with Liz

Delight in the joy of birdwatching at Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne.

This episode is about mindful birding, the Nankeen Night Heron and other birds you might see in the heart of Melbourne.

Watching David Attenborough at aged seven, Liz Hackett thinks that it was inevitable that she would grow up loving nature. From volunteering, to working for a conservation not-for-profit and to becoming a birder in her late thirties, it’s been a wonderful journey for Liz. She dedicates her Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens bird walks to her darling husband Paul, who she lost in 2019. As a birding tour guide, he shared his passion and knowledge of birds with Liz. And, in return, she is passing on that love and knowledge to others.
